POSITION SUMMARY/ PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Responsible for developing strategies to drive long term company growth. Pursue both media and entertainment related strategic growth opportunities across various platforms. Lead sales of digital products across the organization.
Build the organization and establish processes for content sales across various platforms
Responsible for business development across existing and emerging platforms.
Transact carriage deals with preferred placement and promotion
Find complementary brands for co-promotions and similarly situated subscription business for co-bundling and promotion
Pursue network distribution and/or program syndication in international markets
Develop carriage dals to maximize advertising reach and secure preferred placement
Pioneer models and pricing that contribute to revenue growth
Conduct all distribution licensing contractual negotiations
Create new digital revenue streams
Responsible for business development, deal execution, client management and content operations
Lead analytic efforts to asses initiatives and leverage insights that produce relevant data to drive business decisions
Collaborate with all team members in the development of key growth initiatives
Report metrics and key learnings on a regular basis to leadership and adjust strategies as needed.
Collaborate, build and maintain relationships with industry partners that support business objectives
Collaborate with internal teams to incorporate key priorities into business development plans
Ensuring fiscal responsibility by managing department budget and activities.
Develop business plans to capture new business opportunities
Keep abreast of key industry trends and market conditions across all media in informing various opportunities JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum of 10 years Business Development experience in media industry, preferable digital market
Deep experience working in media companies with digital content. Familiarity with both subscription- and advertising-based business models
BA in business or related field required; MBA or relevant graduate degree preferred
Proven track record of evaluating business opportunities and executing tactical strategies for implementation to support business growth
Familiarity and fluency with digital technology and media industries
